Mr Paul Yeates
Chairman of Trustees and Governors

Educated at Collyer's Grammar School, Horsham and trained as a Science Teacher at Goldsmiths College, London 1958-1961. After 9 years teaching Biology in secondary schools in UK and East Africa he had 31 years in executive positions in the packaging industry. A resident of Lingfield for 56 years he was a founder member of the School Association and its Chairman for ten years. He was one of the four Trustees who established the Charitable Trust Notre Dame School Lingfield at the departure of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1986. Married, his three children attended the school between 1971 and 1986 and a granddaughter is currently in the Lower Sixth. An enthusiastic sportsman in his youth he takes a keen interest in his grandchildren's sporting activities. Other interests include walking, theatre, cinema and bridge.

Mr Peter Samuels
Trustee and Governor
Link Governor for Mathematics

Peter was educated at Horley Bi-lateral School (Grammar) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales having qualified in 1972. In the ten years to 1988 he was Finance Director and Managing Director of an engineering group. Thereafter he established a corporate finance advisory practice that he continues to head today. Peter has lived in Lingfield for 29 years and is married with two daughters who both attended LNDS. He is interested in all sports and enjoys reading and music, having played the guitar since his teens.

Mrs Susan Rutherford
Trustee and Governor
Link Governor for Drama/LDD/Media

Educated at Presentation Convent Dublin, University College Dublin, and Open University where she was awarded a BA in Humanities. Married in 1975 Susan has three children. Both daughters were educated at LNDS. In 1983 Susan founded a software company with her husband and until retirement acted as its Financial Director. Her leisure pursuits are reading, bridge, theatre and amateur dramatics.

Mr Geoffrey Daw
Trustee and Governor
Link Governor for History, Health and Safety and Staff Recruitment

Educated at Wellington School, Somerset, The City of London Business School, Guildford College of Law and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Geoff holds a BA Business Law, LLM (Cantab) and specializes in Company and Commercial Law. His interests are cricket, photography and wine.

Dr Andrew Robertson Mb Bchir, DA
Governor
Link Governor for Science

Educated at Copthorne School, Winchester College, Emmanuel College Cambridge and St Bartholomew's Hospital London. Worked as a General Practitioner in Lingfield 1970-2003 and part time Anaesthetist at Queen Victoria Hospital. Currently a Public Governor at the Hospital. Married with four daughters who attended LNDS and all have Honours Degrees from their universities. Andrew’s interests include sailing, golf and grandchild sitting!

Mr Clive Jecks
Governor
Link Governor for Business Studies and ICT

Educated at Purley Grammar School, Clive has a background in high technology. He has worked in technical, sales and management roles in IBM, Wang Laboratories and Marconi. He is now Director of Defence Sales at Allocate Software plc, a software company that provides manpower planning systems for military organizations including MOD and NATO. Clive is married with two children who both attended LNDS and chaired the School Association for several years.

Mrs Fiona Payne
Governor
Link Governor for Geography

Educated at Lingfield Notre Dame, Fiona worked as a PA to main board members in major UK companies and then as a stockbroker in the City before moving to Germany where she taught languages at the Berlitz Sprachscule in Dusseldorf. On her return to England Fiona retrained in 'Exercise to Music' (the birth of the mainstream fitness industry) and has run her own company for 18 years covering Personal Training, Child Related Fitness and now specializes in Pilates. Fiona, a resident of Lingfield for 53 years, is married with two daughters who both attended LNDS from Nursery to Year 13.

Dr Salvo Xerri
Governor
Link Governor for Music and Child Protection

Educated at the Lyceum Grammar School in Malta. Graduated in Medicine at the Royal University of Malta Medical School. He relocated to England in 1977 and undertook a three year course in General Practice. Salvo joined a practice in Crawley in 1981 and has been the senior Partner there for six years. He is also the Medical Director of the Arundel and Brighton Diocesan Pilgrimage. Salvo is married to a Biology teacher. They have three children. The two girls attended LNDS. Salvo is a sports enthusiast and a particularly keen follower of football having played to university representation level.

Mrs Luise Cartwright
Governor
Link Governor for English and Library

Educated at St, Monica's School, Clacton-on-Sea, Luise trained as a teacher at Whitelands College, Putney, qualifying in 1965. Luise married in 1970 and has three children. She taught at LNDS for 14 years. Her subjects were English and Drama and she was a Sixth Form tutor. Luise retired in 2001. Her leisure pursuits are amateur dramatics, photography, theatre going and reading.

Mrs Clare Higgins
Governor
Link Governor for PSHE/SMSCE

Educated at St. Wilfred's RC Comprehensive School, Crawley and University College, London, Clare qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and worked in the City until 2000 before working as a teaching assistant at a school for visually impaired children. Clare is married with three school aged children and lives in Sevenoaks. She continues to be involved in legal matters at local level, has musical interests and is a coach at Sevenoaks Athletic Club.
